The third weekend of March each year. The Annual Spring
Pilgrimage is dedicated to John James
Audubon, who set himself the task of painting all the
birds in America. Package Tours included: public and
private historic homes opened for tours,
rural homestead, vintage dancers and many other festival events by the
West Feliciana Parish Historical Society.

Audubon Country BirdFest - - Website
Held the first weekend of April. This annual birding
festival, promises numerous birding field trips into spectacular
wildlife areas, showcasing the large number of both migratory
and resident birds of the Felicianas, where John James
Audubon produced art work on over 80 species. Guided
field-trips, seminars, workshops, and speakers highlight
the festival located in Parker Park and the
St. Francisville Inn.

Sarah Knox Taylor Davis Memorial
Day
Wife of the Confederacy President Jefferson Davis and daughter of President Zachary Taylor will
be honor this day for Sarah Knox Taylor Davis. Celebration will
be held at Locus Grove Cemetery. The Locus Grove Cemetery
is now a State Commemorative Area and once was the family

Day the War Stopped-- Website
Held during the Summer - For a brief moment in 1863, the
civil war stopped in the St Francisville for a burial
of Lt. Commander John E. Hart, of the federal
USS Albatross gunboat. In commemoration of this unique event
in history: a re-enactment of the burial, parade, a play by
local performers and other activities are scheduled.

"Exploring Southern Gardens" Website
Southern Garden Symposium & Workshop seeks to preserve and commemorate gardening
of the deep South through lectures, workshops and a
tour of historic Afton Villa gardens. The Symposium
funds a major scholarship in the School of Landscape

Angola Rodeo & Craft Fair - - Website Annual event held every Sunday in October. Angola State
Prison opens its doors for visitors to experience what
a prison rodeo is like. Popularity of the rodeo increases
every year. A prison wood & craft shop sale is held

Annual event held on the first full weekend in December.
Celebrate St Francisville's Christmas Festival where
the historic district is illuminated in tiny white lights.

Annual West Feliciana Friends of the Library
Tour of Homes will be held Sunday between noon and 5
pm during Christmas in the Country. The homes are located
in St Francisville, La. and surrounding countryside.
